Internship Week 5: Updates from Dennine

Hey it’s Dennine again, we just got back from our fifth week out at Goose. And I think it’s pretty amazing how time just flies when you’re having fun, feels like it should just be the second week out here, or just the starting of the summer. I thought a lot this trip, wishing that this will never end and we could just live out here for the rest of our life lol naw jk that would be cool though. But yeah there’s so much stuff we did out here, that I thought I would never do in my life, like running through the woods looking for deer scat or measure the eel grass beds, at first I thought it was silly and what’s the meaning of it? But there’s always a meaning to everything, it just takes awhile to realize why it’s important. I’m really thankful that I’m out here, and people like my Uncle Larry, William, Shannon, Diana and many others that would take their own time to do this for us. Teach us about our land and why we should be grateful for everything we have around us. I learned a lot this summer well I the past couple weeks, it taught me to respect our territory more, the animals that are in our territory, the people around me and what they have done for us. One of the main reasons I like being out here is because, I simply just love it. I guess it gives me a reminder on who I am, why I’m here and who I want to be.
